Giving new life.
“An incandescent light bulb lasts 1000 hours. Why not give it new life to make it last a lifetime?”
On goes my fascination with light-bulbs…
I decided to make a oil burner with a dead light bulb.
So I researched the inner workings of the bulb just to make sure that there are no hazards. (PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! Some bulbs have poisonous powders that can do serious damage to your health. Also, the bulb can break and cut your life into pieces.) If ever, research thoroughly first.
So here are some of my tools and objects… Eye goggles (safety first!), pliers, cutters, and tape. Stuff that are not in the picture are: copper wire, safety gloves, drill, hammer, and nails.

Using the pliers, I carefully took out the inner workings of the bulb. I used tape to clean the mess, making sure that no glass fragment was left in the open. (These glass fragments dig into skin like crazy. And yes it hurts like crazy.)

I got wood for the base and installed a magnet into the surface for the candle.

Drilled a hole for the wire and secured it under with nails. I used pliers to bend the wire so that it could mimic the socket of the bulb.

I placed water and lavender oil inside the bulb and screwed it in the wire and placed the candle on the magnet.

I want to call it “Sur le Feu”.

Now this I’m sure, would last a lifetime.
